there is something called "Rub n Buff" that is a wax based based product that you.... guess what? Rub on and buff. It comes in several metallic shades. I've used it on a light fixture - fixture was brass, everything else in the room was nickel color, worked nicely to make the light fit in. Don't know how durable it would be on a faucet though. You would probably have to venture into a hobby store to get the stuff though.

One big issue here is that the state of financial education in our country is appalling. And far too many business organizations- including the banks- preyed upon the populous' ignorance, the result being the recent financial crisis. That's an oversimplification, to be sure. But not as much of an oversimplification as saying "if no one took on debt we would all be just fine."
Stephen, you have every right to be proud of what you have achieved and the wealth you have accumulated. I am, however, curious if it would be possible to look back and compare where you might be today if you had not used debt at all.
I am currently debt free but there is no way in heck I would have gotten here without strategic use of debt. (And this debt free thing is only temporary, I'm looking to get some leverage working for me again- asap!)

I do know that I have become much more careful with debt as I have gotten older, and I think the "no debt!" voices on BP are important, to perhaps put a seed of warning into overly enthusiastic young investors' minds.

Sorry Josh, we got a little distracted with our silliness!

you probably have already researched this, but I wanted to make sure you know about the companies that do "merch on demand". You don't have to order in quantity and they handle shipping etc so it's quite painless. I have used Printfection.com (based here in Denver BTW) with success. The profit margin is not high this way but the only investment is your design time.

It also solves the "I don't wear T-shirts" issue because you can apply your design ideas to all sorts of products.

BTW- there's no minimum on orders so it could be a a good resource for BPers looking for branding for their own businesses as well. (Get your own "I buy underwater parking garages" hoodie!!)

The BP logo shirt design that you already have is quite good. You might just tweak that a bit- you could make it available in different colors and sizes at no additional cost.

I've done this sort of design stuff in the past but frankly I am slammed right now so I can't offer to take it on. (It's really easy pretty easy for anyone with a good eye and a simple design program that can generate PNG images). Perhaps later in the year when things slow down I could help...

wow @Bryan Davis that's some story

I will add a qualification to my previous post:
dead person in unit = not weird
dead person in unit eaten by domestic pets = weird

@Shawn Dandridge I haven't disclosed that. Actually, it just didn't occur to me, which now that I think of it, may be a bit odd!
It might be because I have a lot of relatives in Europe. People (and their houses) have been there so much longer; I think you'd be hard pressed to find a spot where no one had died, so why think about it? And it's more common to choose to die at home or have the body laid out in the home. In America we're kind of strange about death.

Depending on the state of decomposition you may have to remove the section of flooring under where the body lay. I would get in touch with those crime scene specialists and see what they suggest.

sorry you're having to deal with this. I've had two dead tenants (same unit...weird?) but they were discovered promptly, fortunately.

And maybe... check the main breaker. Some of the HUDs that I've examined had "no electricity"- but it wasn't that there was no electric service to the house, they had just turned it off at the breaker box. I would just check to see if it that was the case, and then turn it off again before I left.

if you can find a web domain where you can get both "double L (something)" all spelled out AND "LL (something)" using initials, that would be ideal... you could point both domains at the same site and wouldn't have confusion about the spelling or issues with someone using the other version of the name.
