@Dave Carpenter I am looking to invest in a duplex and rent it out. Ideally, I'd like to invest in the Wauwatosa, West Allis, Bay View or Walker's Point area. As I previously mentioned, I do own my own SFH and am looking at selling it within the next few years if all goes well.

@Mark Shaffar Haha!  I guess my profile picture can be a little deceiving at first.  It's a picture I took at work, last winter.  I work for a local utility.  It's me with a hoodie, hard hat and work light.

I want to own a rental property mainly for additional monthly income.  It would be nice to EVENTUALLY break free from the everyday routine of working for someone else.  I'd like to make a good living through real estate. Instead of having to "break my back" working and giving away my time.  

I'm glad you asked me about my financial goals.  That is something I really need to nail down.  As of right now, I would say that I'd like to be able to make a good living for myself and enjoy life on my own terms.  If I could accomplish that through real estate, I'd be pretty happy.  Of course, owning a Ferrari or a house on the ocean wouldn't be too bad either.  ;)

Hey everyone!  New member here from Milwaukee, WI.  I'm very happy to have found a site such as this to learn about the industry.  I plan on doing my homework and learning as much as I can before diving in.  I recently bought The Book on Flipping Houses and The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down.  

Currently, I own my own SFH on Milwaukee's northwest side (near Wauwatosa). I'm looking into owning a rental property in the future and also completing my first flip sometime after that. I'm glad to have joined this site and I look forward to making some great connections, learning from the wealth of knowledge on this forum and from all of you.
