I'm interested. I'll be in and out of the country so I'll have to fit in where I can. Have you created a meet up group on meetup.com or an alternate website?

It's great to know you're local. As I explained earlier, I'm still in the education stage but I plan to take the next step pretty soon. I'll definitely need a CPA that understands real estate well. I would love to sit down with you and learn a little. You'll have to let me buy you lunch one day when you're available.

Thank you @Joshua Dorkin ! And thank you for creating BiggerPockets. It has already done wonders for my education in REI.

Thanks a lot @Account Closed !
Thanks for the recommendations @Luis Becerra I've read 2 of the 4 but I've heard a lot about The Richest Man in Babylon. I'll have to get that and the last one on your list. Thanks again!

I agree about the age. I have a hard time talking to my peers about REI because no one is interested. Also thank you for the reassurance about the area. I'm just starting out on how to learn about the market. I've heard a lot of good things about the "mid county" market.

Hi everyone,
As I mentioned in my subject, I'm a new investor wanting to start out in Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas. For the past 7 months I've been reading a lot about real estate. I've read many articles on here as well as forums. I tend to talk about it in many of my conversations but I've yet to really find anyone that truly "gets into" REI. That's why I was so excited when I stumbled across BiggerPockets.
Soon I will be starting college. I'm pursuing a degree in business management. My greatest concern is whether I'll be able to invest throughout school (if anyone has any experience in investing during college I'd love to hear about it). I'm interested in every aspect of REI but for me it's more practical to begin in wholesaling, like many investors do.
I look forward to making new friends in the REI world and can't wait to begin my career as an investor.
Thank you sir.
What are some of the consequences if I fail to find a buyer for a house under contract before the closing date?
