Honestly...turn your truck into a library and listen to podcasts...Biggerpockets, BP Money, Real Estate Guys, DIY Money, Listen Money Matters, plus so many more Real Estate Podcasts.  

Read books and save.  It will come to you your plan

I know this is probably a dumb questions, but why does it matter how much equity is in the property? 

Curious on this one as well.  Looking forward to hearing some answers

Sorry for your loss.

Why not sell it, split the money even (or close to even) among you.  Why is your brother renting for a while a bad idea while he gets his credit up to buy his own house?

That book is an unbelievable reference. 

Also, look into a local landlord association.  They will have a lot of what you are looking for

Get an internship with a realtor/brokerage....maybe you could even get some credits for it if there is a job shadowing class
