I'll admit to being very new to all this as well, but a few local real estate investors pointed me to SME here in the Augusta/Evans area.  I think their branch downtown may have more direct experience with real estate investors, but I met with the folks at their Martinez office last week.   They made a great initial impression and were able to answer my laundry list of questions, for what that's worth.  I'd be interested to know if you hear about anyone else that's good in the area.
