You make a good point. I have a lot of friends in the real estate industry who believe that Houston is overbuilding and they advise to wait about 6 months. I, like you, am waiting to see what happens, but I don't want to wait too long as there are a lot of conflicting opinions. I am interested to hear what others here on BP have to think?

Monte, Third Ward will be re-developed in the years to come. The question is whether you can afford to own a property that might take a small loss the next few years until the transitioning period happens. I have been looking at this area as well.

Hi BP, I am fairly new to real estate investing, however I have personally bought several different homes to live in over the past 10 years. My question is: if you had a decent amount of cash to invest (100K-200K), would it be better use of the funds to purchase a MF or several SFR? I know this question is quite general, but I am specifically referring to the Houston market and the projected population growth? All opinions and advice are welcome.

Welcome Devin. I also live in that area. It will be interesting to see how the market responds in the next 8 months as well as some of the areas in East Downtown / 3rd Ward. Anybody Houston real estate analysts have any thoughts?

@Cody L. I am new to BP and looking to invest in Houston multifamily properties. I believe Houston is a growing market as I have been living in Houston for 12 years and have seen the development . Obviously it took years to build your portfolio to that quantity, very impressive. Did you start on your own or form a partnership? I have funds avaiable, but I don't have the experience with multifamily. I just wanted to get your thoughts on the best way to start and build a porftolio. Thank you in advance

@Sean Hebert thank you very much and welcome to the BP community as well. All the best in your endeavors.

@Steven Butala thank you Steven. Yes, I wish I would have discovered BP years ago. The wealth of information available and ability to connect with other investors that have the same drive is quite amazing. All the best to you as well.

Hi BP community, I am a new member from Houston, TX. I joined about a month ago and I have just been reading, listening to podcasts, and analyzing deals for practice. I have some prior real estate experience through my own purchases and currently hold other properties not counting my primary residence. I have a full-time job, however I am looking to become more active in real estate in the Houston area whether that is with SFR, MF or both.

I look forward to continuing to learn and make new connections.

Michael
