I wish I would've seen the mentions, need to check my notifications to see why I am not receiving. I like 07107 and 07104 for their proximity to multiple forms of transportation, low incedence of dilapidated houses as well as bordering nice towns Belleville NJ and Bloomfield NJ. I do however own one property in the "numbered streets" I think I mentioned this before but not on this post so I will say it again, anyone interested in owning in Newark should stop by Eviction court in Essex County Courthouse. If you can stomach that then just do your best to get good tenants and just know the laws . @Odie Ayaga , @Jorge Borges , @Jose Godreau , @Evelio Gonzalez @Randy Lewis

Welcome to Biggerpockets. I own two rentals in Newark, one in Upper Roseville and one near West Side Park. Newark good, just have to screen your tenants I am a big fan of:

Hi @Virginia F. I wish you luck on your journey, and welcome to Biggerpockets. I wanted to chime in that I live in NJ and can confirm in fact that an FHA loan can be used on up to 4-Familiy Residential Property. That is what I did. See below blog article and check out others like it.

Why not just go yourself? Do you have pictures? I have yet to find a good lawyer for these things and much less a cheap one. The judges tend to be lenient on repainting and carpet cleaning, but much less so on huge holes and ripped or burnt carpets, etc.

Congrats, North Newark is good if you know what you're doing. On an off day I would definitely visit Eviction court at Essex Courthouse so you can get a feel for that process. I've relied heavily on Home advisors and referrals for various trades. Good luck!!

Download this:

http://www.lsnjlaw.org/Publications/Pages/Manuals/...

Read it, Print it, Memorize it. You will not regret it. You will learn soon emotions get you nowhere. And that manual will be the first place a tenant will turn to when they are googling how to screw you over.

Taxes are a matter of public record. In Newark NJ you can go here to find property taxes.

Find a house that meets your criteria and enter the address there. You can do the same for the Bronx but I don't have that link handy.

Be careful out there. Just caught my ear while I was at my parents house. Protestors were targeting a company by the name 'Quick Evic' as well as bandit signs and wholesalers in there comments.

Post: Desirable Areas in Stuart/PSL and Surrounding Area

Hi @Keith Doe What do you do for a living? My wife and I haven been to PSL a few times this year, and would love to move out there as soon as I find a replacement job. Some of the nicest areas we have seen are West of 95, or St Lucie's West, Traditions and Torino area. One way I think that is a really good idea is to convince owners of lots to sell and offer them to builders in the area. Following the school zones is another good way to find the nicer areas.
