Maggie,  good afternoon and thank you for the reply.  Do you yourself perform property management, or are you offering to make a referral to someone you know and trust?  A private message is fine, as well as a reply here.

Am traveling for a week or so.  Will be more available at the computer at that time.  Thank you. :)

Monica, thanks very much for the reply.  I am in New England for a week or so, but when back in MIA will be at the computer more regularly, and will send out info to my family members in need of property management services.

@ Carlos Rovira I appreciate your prompt reply.  I have checked out your BP bio and website, and I appreciate the online presence.  I am traveling for a few days, but will be sending along some contact links to family members.  Much appreciated

Good afternoon, BP colleagues.  I was hoping you could help me with a recommendation for a property management firm in Miami, for apartments in the Sweetwater area.  I have some elderly family members who have about 20-25 units in Sweetwater.  Until recently, they were collecting rents in person, but they are no longer able to, due to advancing age and disability.

Does anyone out there please have some candidate property management companies, that are reputable and honest, and would be willing to service this level/number of apartments?

I would be most appreciative of any replies.

Thank you, @Malgorzata Sadowska for the kind reply.  I will be calling a few more possible candidates, as if I need to file an appeal it will have to be done in the next 2-3 days.

Following this as well

Hello, all.  I have about 25 doors or so in Miami area, spread out over the city (duplexes, quads, condos).  As the members here may know, Miami is terrible when it comes to property taxes, & mine have gone up considerably on some of my buildings.  My property tax bill this year is in excess of $60,000.  :(

Does anyone have experience, preferably specifically in Miami, of how the property tax appeal process works?  Is this something you guys have done DIY, or have you hired a firm?  It looks like many of these firms hire on a contingency basis.

I called two firms this AM, but must say the person who answered the phone wasn't good at selling their business to me (not quite surly, but just seemed disinterested/unhelpful to someone with questions).  I may end up going with one of them anyways, as the deadline approaches to file an appeal this week.

If anyone can share there experiences AND/OR recommendations, I would be most grateful. Even a 10% reduction in this bill is significant money $$.

Hello, everyone.  Very nice coincidence that you made a Post on this topic, @Mitch Polatin.  I too am in Miami, & have been looking for an accountant who knows the ins/outs of real estate taxation & best strategies, perhaps preferably one who is a real estate investor as well.

I have a portfolio that has grown to about 25 doors, have been doing some significant renovation this year, & am contemplating the purchase of another property.  I think I am in need of more than just a person who files my taxes, as I am worried I am leaving a lot of money on the table.

Thank you.

Good morning.  I am also looking for a new CPA.  I have about 25 doors scattered over a few duplexes, and quadplexes over Miami.  I think the time has come for a more comprehensive strategic look at my tax situation/possible savings.  Is there anyone the BP community would recommend?

Thank you all for any input.
