Unique can also mean you only appeal to a smaller niche market as apposed to appealing to the masses.

So be careful of that.

Yes, this is my concern. Being a remote location might already limit client base. Having a unique property may limit it even further.

Quote from @Andrew Steffens:

We just welcomed our first guests but it is booking really well as we listed a month ago.  I do not foresee any issues as we are very clear in photos and description of everything.  It is in Dunedin just North of Clearwater Beach.  It is not walking distance to much but a short drive to a lot and generally a touristy area.

Awesome. Thanks for the insight. I hope bookings continue well for you

In my market (Tampa metro) the more unique, the better.  We just started managing 4 tiny homes on 1 lot with a shared pool and they are booking great at a rate commensurate with larger homes.

Are they located in a touristy area or near attractions? How are guests responding to the multiple units on a single lot or is it a larger piece of land?

I am looking for some feedback from others on their success/feedback on unique STR properties. I currently operate a few STRs so have a good understanding of that aspect although they're all located in touristy locations. I am looking to expand my rentals & looking at the idea of doing something unique in a more remote location.

What have you found with Tiny Homes, Tree House, Secluded Cabins, etc.? Has it been tough to make it work? Would you do it again? Do people really travel to these types of secluded locations for "weekend getaways"?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Prepare the listing on your end for when the evolve finishes. You do not need to "publish" until Evolve is completely done but can have everything ready to go. As for management, I'm not sure you'd need a platform to manage a single property. We self manage a few properties without using an outside software. Airbnb & VRBO can be synced through the calendar to make it easy & avoid double bookings. Good luck.

@Marianne Lopez-Henthorn As a fellow Canadian (Toronto) I recently moved to the south (Louisiana). I am high on the Florida Panhandle (Destin, Navarre, Miramar Beach, etc). My in-laws have a rental property in SanDestin that has been a great investment for them. It has certainly picked up steam as of late, gets very popular in the summer times with tourism, but prices are still reasonable, areas are growing and overall is just beautiful with great beaches.
