Was just wondering if there was a general percentage I could use to calculate property insurance and taxes when running numbers on a rental property or if there are websites I can utilize? I'm sure it's specific to city and state. But just in case I have limited info on a property, I wanted to better understand how I can be resourceful to gather needed information when running numbers. I'm new at this!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a legal advisor or attorney who specializes in real estate and multi family rentals?

@Luke Saglimbeni Luke thanks for the feedback. I haven’t been as active on Bigger Pockets lately because of gigs with my band and a super busy job but I’m looking to get back into it. Thank you for helping to keep me motivated.
Cheers

One thing I just remembered I wanted to ask...what protections are there against hurricanes such as Maria? If you buy a building and it gets heavily damaged or wiped out, does the insurance cover it?

Thanks for replying and will do! Just wondering if there was anything I needed to be aware of that might be different than buying a property in say Arizona.

Does anyone have any experience investing in Puerto Rico and know the laws there around real estate? Looking at possible commercial property to turn into hostel and multi family apartment building using BRRRR method. Would be partnered with a couple local there. Not sure how involved I want to be living this far. Any advice is welcome!

@Chris Seveney so it’s possible to lose your money altogether with a certificate? Would it make more sense to stick to local that you can see versus trying to buy out of state?
