Sorry for the delay Steve I just created a file on the Island Vent
I tried to download 2 of my drawings into the file
It is my first attempt,,
I don't like to make my colleagues at BP wait and will respond faster in the future,,,

George
I sincerely apologize
Sometimes my work as a plumber for the County of Los Angeles just overwhelms me.
We are like paramedic "with piupe wrenches" and can be called out in the middle of the night to work on emergencies,,
Having said that,,I do have some drawings and examples of Island Vents and I will try to create a file for them on BP.
Bare in mind ,I am not a IT genius ,this will be my first attempt at such a "file".
Please know that I really did want to help you and Im sorry I dropped the ball

PS I will be sending another e mail with a link or image

This message goes out to my buddy Rick Harmon,,,
Rick you really brought up some images from " Memory Lane" concerning "Fast Talking " Tommy Vu,,,the King of the Late Night Infomercial,,,,
Just for giggles .Id like to see if I could buy one of his oldie but moldy courses on Ebay for examination,,,,
Now keeping that thought Rick ,the vehicle of the "late night infomercial" is not all bad,,,in fact our mutual friend ,Tony Alvarez admitted and said during a recent presentation that Dave Del Dotto's course was the catalyst and incentive for him to pursue REI in the first place,,,,and,,as they say ,,"the rest is history,," Tony dun' reel good fo his seff"
I think it all boils done to this Rick ,,,,in Tommy Vu words or near words,,,,
"You No Worky,,,!!! You No Money""" thank you Mr Vu,,,,you've inspired us all,,,,,

Hello Mr Fred Robinson
Please send me your personal e mail address and I will send you clear working drawings on an "island vent"
Having said that,,,a competent licensed plumber will know how to do that correctly for you,,,
Gotta be honest here guys ,,,I do not like ,use or recommend air admittance valves ,,ive seen them fail over time and allow raw sewage to enter the structure,,,"Aint a gonna get no Ice Cream and Strawberry Pie from Mama that evenin'" hear????
Take your time..I know its a pain in the a-- but do the island vent

I will affirm what Steve just said,,,,
It sounds like PEX to me ,,,
I would do a Google search on "pros and cons of PEX piping systems:
You can also get an idea of hands on installation by looking at You Tube videos on the same topic,,,
Then you can make an objective decision,,,,me? I wouldnt touch PEX with a 10 pole,,,
Hope this helps,,,,

Yes George
I agree PEX is faster ,,,theres no way ,,,it CANT be faster,,OK?
But heres what scares the Hell out of me,,,and I know im repeating myself
Rodents,,,manly RATS like it,,Why ? they can smell and hear the water inside so they chow down and "eat it" to get to the water,,,,
They cant eat copper ,,,"yet".,,,,I'll spend the time and money and sell a copper job all day long and not have a "call back" on that repipe ever again,,,the only callbacks I'll get are from happy clients who want me to do more work for them,,,,
I want them to LOVE ME George,,,NOT HATE ME,,,hope this makes sense and I wish you all the luck in the work on that shower.Take your time and do it right,,,
Best Regards
Dave Doyle
