Thanks for this discussion @Jamie Fankhauser, enjoyed seeing everyone’s input—both the commonalities and unique personal favorites.

I’ll add “The Rise of Superman” by Steven Kotler. Speaks on the psychology of flow state and optimal performance. Makes you think about your own personal “in-the-zone” activities (with work, recreational, creative arts, etc). Interesting neuro stuff!

(After seeing the previous posts, I ought to read Millionaire Next Door lol.)

Post: For Holiday Road Trips: Favorite BP Podcast episode?

Love this thread and will definitely follow. We all know those "Spotify Year in Review" infographics; in a year full of pivoting and introspection, I allocated the most time to podcasts! 👍🏼 Also because road trips are a more favorable way to travel right now, I could use some recs.

& BP Podcasts are awesome. I've seen Matthew McConaughey on a few podcasts this year so I had to give a listen (first on The Tim Ferris Show). Hearing him with @David Greene and @Brandon Turner on EP #413 though was nothing short of eye-opening and memorable. Definitely a favorite and I love the down-to-earth, no bullsh*t aura throughout the episode.

Welcome @Wray Rivera! I've grown to love the podcast series as well--I've definitely got to second @Jared Mann's rec on the Chris Voss EP #260 on negotiation. I'll throw in EP #353 w/ Tim Rhode; such a solid, to-the-point interview with someone who's been around the block a few times. Both high quality interviews nonetheless!

Wishing you well on your endeavors @Erik J Anderson! Currently sharing the same real estate momentum (and license journey *thumbs up*) and it couldn't be any more exciting. @Vincent Chan shared a great list of books and I second them all. Real estate meetups are key, continue to network left and right, and capitalize on small steps every day for they will go a long way. BiggerPockets has been a phenomenal resource for me getting started. Good luck!

Well said, @Account Closed. Aside from the stocks vs. real estate noise in the discussion, being in the stock market is just one form of maintaining wealth that at the end of the day is valuable to me and my personal goals. Long term at that. To answer your question, the tech/consumer discretionary/etc. ETFs (with low net expense ratios) that I have positions in are at a great deal right now--both containing the companies you mentioned. FTEC and SPLG are low priced ETFs that hold V, MA, FB, and/or companies like AMZN, BRK, GOOG. Solid long-term sentiment. Also going to note I'm not a consultant or financial advisor either, but I do believe in multiple investing streams.

Welcome to BP @Darius Price! Definitely agree with @Kobe Xin. Spend some time researching what would suit you best and what aligns well with your end goals, and get involved with RE groups to gain insight from other agents/brokers. I too am on the road to obtaining my license this year, and interacting through BP/meeting local investors helped provide information on numerous brokerages. Nonetheless, best of luck with your endeavors!
