Post: Canadian interested in USA RE investing

Hi Edna. I moved to the US from Canada. I had difficulty with moving enough money here to buy real estate. I also had to pay taxes in both countries. Also, I had no credit score here in the US, so it was difficult to get a loan. Do you know how to get around those challenges? I do know that real estate in Canada is super expensive.

To improve your SEO, it's best to build backlinks organically. For example, if there are complementary companies you work with, you can link to their site, and they can link to yours. You can write guest articles on other sites, and have one link back to your site.

What about selling them all as contract for deeds? Then you can collect monthly checks and not deal with clogged toilets.

Did they tell you that if you put 25% down, that they would do a traditional owner financing with title transfer? I think that it's pretty common that contract for deed is low downpayment, no credit check, and that owner financing is higher downpayment, more vetting of the buyer.

Post: How to start networking as a novice real estate investor?

I'm in the same boat, so I'll tell you what I've been doing, and what I'm thinking about. So far I've done things like make my LLC, work on getting a bank account, and work on a PPT for private investors, and have a web site. For networking, I think I'll start just by attending a local real estate investor meeting and just listen and meet people, and hand out my business card. To get used to talking about it, I might just work with another new business owner and practice our pitches together. For analyzing markets and deals, do that on my own, getting familiar with one market, looking at the prices and conditions, etc. I haven't subscribed to propstream, but might take a look at that. If anyone has any ideas for me too for networking let me know.

If you're interested, we offer 12% amortized over 5 years, on a $30,000 loan, backed by real estate. You would be the first and only lien on the property. If you're interested, you can message me, and I can send you some more information about it.

That sounds like an interesting strategy. I currently live in Portland and have my primary residence here, and trying to figure out my first step. Padsplit seems really interesting.

You could consider a sober living facility. Look up Kate's House Foundation as an example.

Hi fellow Oregonian! It is super expensive here, isn't it. I have a primary, and just researching and learning about buying my first investment property.
