Hi, this is Kayla from Cozy's support team! While we do allow multiple roommates to set up payments, these payments are processed separately, and aren't combined into a single transaction. If all of the roommates pay on the same day, and use the same payment type, it's likely they'll all post to you on the same day, though!

Hi @Richard Le! This is Kayla from Cozy's customer support team.

Applicants who have been tenants through Cozy can share their previous rental payment history when they apply to new properties. As @Jennifer L. mentioned, our background checks include eviction records searches as well.

It's funny that you should ask about reporting payments to credit bureaus--stay tuned! :)

Hi @Shaun Palmer! This is Kayla, from Cozy's customer support.

You're correct that we don't currently offer phone support, but as some of our customers have already stated, our support team works 7 days a week to get back to each person as quickly and as thoroughly as possible over email. Keeping written conversations allows both our team and our customers to keep records straight, and get to the bottom of issues more efficiently--I often will provide screenshots walking people through the problem in my emails, which is help that not even the best phone talker could provide.

If you do have any more questions, or would like to experience our support firsthand, feel free to send us an email!

Hi @Rebecca B. and @Mitch Coluzzi! This is Kayla from Cozy's support team. I wanted to help clear the air about how we deal with partial payments. Cozy doesn't automatically prevent partial payments from tenants, but you can prevent all payments through Cozy by ending the Cozy "lease" if you're in an eviction scenario.

Hi, this is Kayla from Cozy's Customer Support team. I wanted to jump in and clarify that Cozy charges tenants 2.75% on each credit or debit card payment.

@Jeff V. Hey! This is Kayla from Cozy's support team. You're absolutely correct that Cozy sends tenants email reminders to pay their rent prior to the due date, but we don't yet have a mobile app with push notifications. Users can use mobile browsers to manage their accounts, and as you said, tenants can choose whether or not to schedule recurring monthly payments.

@Dustin Beam Hey there! On Cozy, you have the option to stop all future online payments on a lease at any time, but tenants control their scheduled payment dates and amounts. Many landlords add maintenance charges or pet fees to be paid through Cozy, so to remain flexible, the system doesn't restrict smaller payments.

@Nicole A. Edit to my last post: Cozy does offer tenants the option to pay by credit or debit card for tenants who don't have (or would rather not use) a checking account.

@Jack Forester Hi Jack! I sent you a response to your support email, but I'll re-state my explanation here for the benefit of the community!

On Cozy, you'll create a charge for each amount that is due to you and your tenant's actual payment transaction will balance out that charge. When you collect a payment outside of Cozy, you'll still add a charge for that item, but you'll also separately record the offline payment that you received to balance out that charge. Your ongoing balance and ledger history will keep track of how much is due, and when items were paid.

Hi @Mel, I just wanted to circle back to you and confirm that yes, your tenant would need their own email address to open and manage their Cozy account.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help answer for you!
