Post: DIY workshops/courses/volunteering in Los Angeles?

Michael Mossess Fay Chen I'm looking for the same! Checked out Home Depot, the adult and technical schools in the area and didn't see anything. There's of course a series of classes in Chula Vista for everything you just mentioned plus basic electrical but that's too far for me to go on a regular basis. I'll definitely check out Habitat for Humanity! I've volunteered with them before and hadn't even thought about that as a possibility. I learned a lot when I volunteered years ago. Most of what I know now came from working on houses with my late stepfather who used to restore historic homes and build theaters. That and doing work on own house. Ha. I'm good installing appliances, technology integration, cabinets, countertops, laminate flooring, lighting but would like to learn more about tile work especially. Keep me posted on what else you find!

If you don't go all the way up the wall with the fireplace stone you could stage it with a big clock, piece of art or TV mounted above it. That'll provide more room configuration possibilities too.

Anthony Wienke - You're welcome, happy to help. Not to put myself out of business lol but a website simply to take payments may not be necessary. However, you might consider it if: You need to establish or elevate your brand, showcase your services and properties. I've set up several for investors, property managers, realtors etc. that have multiple LOB's, that allow tenants to pay their rent (doesn't have to be self hosted on your site), allow prospective tenants to fill out rental apps securely etc.

Rachel Rodriguez - I own a web design company specializing in email marketing, e-commerce, social media, SEO and steaming media. I'd highly recommend constant contact and Mail chimp. Let me know if you have any other questions about functionality. Happy to help!
Thanks so much for the feedback, everyone! All good things to consider. Really appreciate the help.

Different types of mold require different types of treatment to be removed. Given the health hazards associated with certain types of mold, asthma, lung infections, pneumonia, bronchitis, even death (black mold), I wouldn't mess around, as you said and do if on the cheap. Get a couple quotes from mold removal experts. Some molds people make the mistake of trying to clean with bleach, which doesn't actually kill it. It just makes it less visible... Agree you should find the source. It can sometimes mean removing dry wall, AC ducts or cabinetry if its spores have become embedded and spread into surrounding areas. Kilz is another product I recommend if it's local to one specific spot that's coming from a pipe behind dry wall or a localized area. Spraying the area will kill it and also prevent the bacteria from continuing to spread. A lot of folks don't realize that even if you stop a moisture trap, the bacteria will continue to spread throughout the damaged dry wall or other surfaces.

Anthony Wienke - I own a web design company, including expertise in e-commerce integration, SEO, social media, email marketing and streaming media integration. If you choose not to create a site and integrate a payment processing application (e.g. Square, PayPal, ACH), I'd recommend cozy, e-rental or wiliampaid (if they still exist). Otherwise, another great options - If you use Intuit QuickBooks, they have an electronic payment option. I use it and find it convenient that it integrates easily into my overall business financial records and makes it easy for tax filing. Super easy for the user, too. They receive invoices and can pay electronically and securely online. You can also add late or processing fees this way as well if you need to but it doesn't cost you or them anything.
