@Brian Pulaski right that’s what I said I was just using and example. Some people just want to get rid of the property. As you also stated distressed is definitely the more common

@Greg Morris I have yet to make my first deal but the idea is to if you wanted to sell your house for 100k I would make you a dramatic low offer of like half that if not a little more. When you get the contacts you put in a contingency that gives you time do inspections and provide a fee to the seller in the event you can’t meet the deadline. I kinda quickly explained it as best I can but there are many videos and post here about it. The idea is to find distressed properties or people that need to sell the house by any means.

@Barry Pekin so true. I started looking into investing in real estate last month. And I never heard of wholesaling until then. Of course everyone knows about fix and flipping but wholesaling never came to mind. Even when I heard about it I thought people were making it up but then I looked into it myself and knew this is how I can start my RE investing.

Hey all,

Just curious why wholesaling not as well known and why when I tell people about it they look at me like I’m crazy? I’m an investor starting out and when I tell co workers, friends, and family what I’m trying to do they automatically assume I’m going to fix and flip and when I mention wholesaling they think I’m nuts. Anyone else experience this?

Hello all!

I’m trying to get my first wholesale deal. I have been making inquiries about buying and speaking with sellers. Came across one that may be interested but they currently have tenants. Would that still be a good deal? Once the seller mentioned that I honestly was stumped and didn’t know how to respond and just told them I will run my numbers again (I didn’t know what to say) and give them a call. Thank you in advance for feedback.

Post: Why are my friends so against me investing in Real estate?!

@Michael Lowe I think a point @Curt Davis made is correct. They are prob people that have worked jobs and never took a risk like this. The book Rich Dad Poor Dad explains that most people believe it they work hard at a good job they can be successful. And they could yes but the reason the rich stay rich is because they make money work for them. I’m having this same issue so I decided to just keep striving for my goals and will let my success do the talking. Good luck my friend I hope we both succeed.
