I'm looking for a local meet up where I can begin networking with like-minded investors.  While the podcasts, books and forums are a great resource, I am mostly motivated by individual or group networking.

Great question!  I'm not writing to respond to it, but to piggy-back!  I also live in SoCal and will be making my first condo purchase in Maui next year, but am looking down the pipeline for future investments in solid markets.  Thank you for starting the thread, Rosario!

I'm not too concerned with the immediate monthly returns.  What's most important at the moment is to be able to qualify for a first time home buyer loan.  After speaking to a few lenders, they tell me that purchasing a property as my primary, then moving towards long term is the best way to go.

Also, I'm very interested in learning about purchasing a rental property on Oahu a little further down the road.  Are you able to educate me as to the best investment?  I know that question is a bit broad, but I'm new (but very serious) to this.

Hi.  I am looking into purchasing a condo on Maui in 2023 as a first-time home owner, then eventually long term renting it.  Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with Maui condo home ownership?
