@Barrett Boone and @Brian Lenz, I am also trying to figure out where to get started with this strategy.  I was in the courthouse once for jury duty, but it can be a little overwhelming when you don't know what floor or what department you're looking for.  I'm fine with going to the Courthouse to find my list, I too, just need to know where in the Courthouse to start looking.  Can any of you pro's out there help me out?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this one... and I may not be able to make any until September or October as my J-O-B is getting in the way again.  I'm on a big project on I-88 between Dixon and Rock Falls, and we'll be working some big hours all summer.  I'll make one if possible, but not likely.  Have fun, and network away!

@Benjamin Ertl

I live about an hour away from where I invest in Machesney Park, which is just north of Rockford.  I hire out the day to day management, and I just manage the manager.  Yes it costs a little more to do it this way, but as long as you have it in your price, you will be ok.  I agree with every post on this chain so far, and if I were you, I would start small with something in your back yard, and work up from there.  But if you are feeling the itch to come to Rockford, get ahold of me... I'll tell you which property manager NOT to use!  I have also attended a couple of the BP meetups with @Craig Wilcox, and they are very informative, and a great group of local investors.  Feel free to attend one!

Best of luck!

Kyle

I'm going to try to get there, but I've got some shuffling to do to be able to make it happen.

Hello BP!  I live in Freeport IL, but I am considering looking at Monroe, Wisconsin for a possible area to invest, well, because the RE taxes are quite a bit lower than here in IL.  I'm looking for anyone in the Monroe area that may be able to give me a little guidance on a good property manager, lawn/snow people, handymen, etc.

Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated!

Kyle
