@John Cohen Hope you're well, John. In searching through the BP forums I've seen your name pop up a couple times regarding the Wilmington, NC area. I've been in Wilmington for about 18 months and I'm starting to build a network of people in the area so I can begin my REI career. I'm sure you're a busy guy but I'd love a chance to connect in the near future, in exchange I'd certainly be willing to help any way I can if you're looking to invest in the Wilmington area further.

Cheers,

Kyle Sailor

Good afternoon BP,

I am new to the community and in an effort to further expand my knowledge/network I am attending a local REIA Meeting this week. This will be my first REIA meeting and I wanted to know what to expect. I pride myself on professionalism and want to make the right impression. never know who you could meet, right? These may seem like silly questions but for example, what's attire? I don't have business cards yet, is it okay to give the business card I use for my current employer? Anything that may be helpful for this meeting would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to any insight.

Cheers!

@Don Harris Thank you for the response. I'll certainly try and update you when I am able to make it to a meetup in the charlotte area. Doesn't seem to be much happening in Wilmington at the time.

@Abhi Golhar Thanks for leaving a response. Great to see the support this quickly in the community. Maybe we can connect when I am in your area. My brain is overloaded with questions!

Hello BP community,

My name is Kyle, I am 27 and I currently live in Wilmington, NC. I have been in sales for the last 6 years and am finally deciding to take the steps towards a career in real estate. My experience includes selling digital marketing strategies for an Inc 500 company, leasing office equipment (any ex-copier guys out there?) and now I am a regional sales rep for a med equipment company and I cover the Southeast US. I have over 700 hours of documented sales training. Throughout my (relatively short) career I've become passionate about sales and can't help but shake the idea that the most lucrative thing to sell is real estate... The most successful people I know have done so by selling real estate. Which is why I am here!

I stumbled across the BP Podcast and have been making my way through the episodes. This is allowing me to figure out which direction I should head (ie wholesaling, flipping etc..) So I am still not entirely sure how I am going to approach this yet. The podcast has been great for that!

I am looking to network with anyone willing to do so. I am particularly interested in my local market of Wilmington but I am often in the Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, Charleston and Myrtle Beach area and would be excited to connect with people in those markets as well, I travel extensively for my current job. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am very excited about being active in the BP community and encourage anyone to connect with me.

Regards,

Kyle Sailor
