I just completely redid the ensuite master bath for my tenants.  They have been great and brought to my attention that the caulking on the shower base was separating and not looking good.  I could have just went in there and re-caulked everything but I figured it would be a win win for the tenants and I to redo the whole thing.  They are now thrilled to have a luxurious shower and I am giddy that the value of my place went up :)

Wife and I will be moving to Asheville hopefully in the next few months and investing there is looking rather challenging.  We should be moving with a nice chunk of capitol so my strategy will be to find a experienced investor, come in as a financial partner and learn as much of the process as possible.

I would just kindly say "Unfortunately I am searching for properties in better neighborhoods"  "If you have anything else that you think may fit my criteria, please let me know"  Whatever response you get really does not matter.  Just don't dance around it and waste time.

Welcome and best of luck.  I am 28 years young and also recently married.  My wife and I are actually in the process of lining things up to move to NC!  I am in the process of selling my business and once that is done we are listing our home and then trucking down to NC.  Really excited for the move!

Incredible, congrats!  What are your strategies to obtaining leads?

Great attitude! I will be in the same boat as soon as my wife and I move to North Carolina. Best of luck finding a mentor.

I am currently in a similar situation. I have a rental townhome and my current residence, sfr, here in the suburbs of Chicago. My wife and I are moving to North Carolina at which point I am going to dive in as a full time real estate investor. I kept contemplating keeping both properties here however I decided to lessen the headaches and sell both properties, use capitol to ease the move and then use the capitol to start investing with local investors in NC to start learning as much as I can. I figure that seasoned investors will much more likely want to partner up with me and teach me along the way since I will be bringing a good chunk of cash to the table. It is a very scary endeavor however I know it will pay off with solid persistence and networking.
