Free bump for you as I am also curious to see what others might have for answers. Best of luck to you moving forward.

So I am selling my automotive repair shop for $90k.  Buyer has $55k as a downpayment.  I would like to explore my options on how I can make this deal happen.  I am very anxious to sell the business and make the move to North Carolina with my wife.  We were actually hoping to close the deal this week but buyer can not get the financing in place.

How can I structure this deal so that I become a private lender for the remaining $35k?  Any articles or places I can do research on the subject would be greatly appreciated.  I was thinking to lend him the $35 on a 18mo repayment at around 4%.

Perhaps approach the buyer and ask for $2,000 or tell him that you will go to far lengths with legal action to make sure he/she learns their lesson?

Sarah Cox maybe try hypnosis. Hypnosis has been a huge help for me in various aspects of my life. I was a huge skeptic but when 3 sessions got me to quit smoking, I became a believer. Our subconscious mind is very powerful. I would encourage you to try and find a hypnotherapist locally but if that is not an option there are many hypnosis apps that you can try. The one I have is called "I can be free" and they have a session that is specific for phone call phobia. At the very least, remember to take a moment to relax, take many deeeep concentrated breaths (the type that make your head a little dizzy) and you will feel much better. Best of luck to you!

Welcome, Bill. I am not in Asheville yet however I will be as soon as my business sells here in Chicago. I look forward to possibly meeting with you in the near future.

Sounds like we should go hiking together @Shirley Gregory  We will have to stay in touch when we make it down!

@Shirley Gregory there are many reasons. Mainly we are in need of more nature than Chicago suburbs can provide, there are way too many angry people here, very high costs of living, and general mind set of the people here.

My wife is a Physical Therapy Dr. as well as a health/wellness coach and she takes an approach to give the body the proper tools to self heal and people here are more interested in treating symptoms with pills.

We find ourselves to feel very out of place here. We need a change in environment. We got married last year at "Pretty Place" chapel and had our reception in downtown Greenville. We just love the area!
