Hi @Manuel A Zuaznabar- welcome! If you have not already started to meet with local investors at local meet ups, find one! That is also a great way to get immersed in your network.

Thanks! I’m hoping to go to a meet up in January. Here’s hoping it pulls through.

Quote from @Scott E.:

Thank you for your service as a firefighter Manuel.

You've come to the right place to build your network and learn more about real estate investing. Spend the next 3-6 months here on the forums, listening to the podcasts, and reading books. You will start to grasp all of the different benefits of owning real estate and learn the different real estate investing strategies pretty quick.

Plus your experience as a firefighter probably will translate over to your investing business, just because you are getting a very deep perspective on different neighborhoods all around your market. This will help you hone in on an area you'd like to invest. Very different than people who sit at a desk for 40 hours a week.

Thank you for the insight. Any books you would recommend by any chance? Or podcasts?

Hi there! My name Manuel and I'm a FDNY firefighter and a licensed real estate agent. I've always been interested in real estate investing, and while I'm currently focused on building my business and making connections with others in the industry, I hope to eventually turn my passion for real estate into a full-time career. If you're also interested in real estate investing, I'd love to connect and learn from others in the industry. I'm always open to connecting with mentors and other like-minded individuals who are looking to grow their businesses and make a positive impact in their communities. I look forward to connecting to all the wonderful people BiggerPockets has to offer.

Quote from @Nick Giulioni:

Hi Anthony! I'm from California but started my real estate journey here in Indianapolis. Now, I have almost a hundred doors. I would love to help/share my experiences and chat with you more if you're interested.

Hey Nick, would it be possible for me to message you and hear about your experiences as well? I’m also native to NYC and want to start my investing journey out of state. Would love to hear about your experiences and any helpful tips.
