@David Smit Assuming you’re right (which I don’t), the key question is who determines how much is enough? What if the same argument was used against you by someone of lesser means? How many TV’s, cars, clothes are enough? Capitalism is extremely flawed but it’s the best system we have. Central planned economic systems just don’t work.

First meetup was held last night 7/18 and I would qualify it was a resounding success. We've got a good mix of people that are serious about building wealth and, more importantly, helping each other. I will be creating a formal event on MeetUp.com. PM if you have interest in attending.

Please PM me. I tried posting info of Meetup here but moderator deleted stating it should be in Meetup section and I'm not a PRO member. We have our 1st meeting tonight (7/18) in Gainesville.

Great info here. I 'undercovered' Conroe TX which is a suburb of Houston and found everything that has been said here to be true. Less competition, affordable houses, limited rental options, etc. I'm moving to GA for work and will try the same there.

I'm an experienced investor who relocated to GA from Texas and currently work in Gainesville. Looks like we might have enough people to create our own meet-up. Does anyone have any interest? I don't know the area very well but I'm sure we can find a location willing to host.

Thought I'd share my experience because I had a similar dilema. I have a career that pays nice 6-figure income and enjoy real estate investing as a profitable hobby that takes me out of the daily grind. I own several cash-flowing SFR's and have flipped a few home. More recently, I moved my 401K from my company into a self-directed fund and have been investing in syndicated investments on CrowdStreet. I've invested in MFR, office buildings and even a hotel and have learned a ton just listening to the offering webinars. Recommend checking those investments out if you qualify as an accredited investor.
