Anyone ever been contacted by Airbnb to be part of their Airbnb plus program? Any air bnb plus hosts out there? From what I know, it appears it’s just higher hosting standards in terms of cleanliness, amenities and customer service. Any costs to do it? I got an email from Airbnb PLUS team saying they think my home may be a good fit for the program. I know this is something Airbnb rolled out a few months ago. Just wanted to see if people have gotten more bookings and profits from it. Thanks!

Thank you Brian! I agree I would love anyone on here who has STR’s in the area to chime in.

@Brian Grant
Thanks for the information Brian. I will definitely know or post to the forum if there are any new developments. As far as your LTR is concerned, have you seen stable renters with your property?

@Matt R.
Hello, I’ve been trying to look up posts on anyone talking about Crestline CA. I saw a few from you last year. Just curious, if you know anything about the STR market over there. Thanks!

@Brian Grant
Hello, I’ve been looking into Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas as well. Brian, would you happen to know anything about the Crestline area? I saw you mentioned a LTR in that area. I’m thanking about a STR to diversify my portfolio. I assume you’ll need a permit and pay any TOT to the city. How’s the occupancy in that area? Weekends busy, summers and winters? I have an STR in the desert area of La Quinta. Thank you!

@Rob Denn
I would also check if there are any occupancy requirements for your STR. I own a VR in La Quinta close to the Palm Springs Area. The city hear has occupancy laws (2 bedroom =6 max overnight guests, 3 bedroom=8 max overnight guests etc). If your VR will allow more people then definitely a higher bed count would be higher occupancy= more profit and yes maybe more headaches too

Hello thanks for the information. As far as staging, I was talking about it in terms of renting to guests on a short term basis. I have a STR in to Coachella valley and was wondering if having the house “staged” prior to a get checking in was necessary and has value. My cleaning team provides this at an extra cost my issue is unless I have a guest checking in after one has checked out, things such as pool toys and lounge chairs would get ruined by the desert sun if someone checks in like 3-4 days later. I guess I could have them clean later if necessary but just wanted to get an idea if guests truly value this and if it’s worth it. Thanks

Do you guys have your cleaning team stage the house for a check in? Like blow up pool toys, turn on all the lights, stage the dining table etc? Do you see value in doing this for your vacation rental?

Great thanks everyone. I definitely want to be flexible if our schedule allows especially if it would make for a good review. I like the idea of offering early check in as well.

Hi everyone,
Just got my first booking and my guest was asking if they could check out like 4-5 hours later than my check out time. Luckily my calendar is still pretty wide open so I’m able to make this exception plus I would hate to get a negative review since I’m trying to build up my business. I wouldn’t want this to be an ongoing issue in the future so how do you guys go about handling this with getting penalized with air bnb? Thank you.
