Hello @Celine Li I was just researching the same areas that you mentioned. I’m also considering out of state investing as the entry price point in my local market is really high. Speaking from past experiences vetting the real estate professionals that you chose is paramount. I’ve been concentrating more on the Indy market and I’m happy to compare notes if you’d like. Best of luck to you.

I second the advice offered by Nathan Gesner. You could also explore a jv partnership with a local investor. I would absolutely use an attorney to facilitate this type of transaction. You can find a potential partner at your local REIA group. A quick google search will point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

Hello @Anthony J Campanella I’m thinking of purchasing a multi-family in Albany and would just like to know about the current climate of subsidized housing in this area. I have dealt with section 8 in NYC and there is no shortage of applicants that have section 8 vouchers. Do you know if it is the same in Albany?

Quote from @Jimmy Lieu:
Quote from @Jonathan Rivera:
Hey, My name is Jonathan Rivera & I’m from NJ. Im currently a semi truck driver, I’m 32 years old & I want to connect with investors who invest remotely or even here if it makes sense . I know that NJ is pretty expensive & isn’t landlord friendly for the most part . My goal here is to able to come up with game plan, learn & implement information that is given..
Any thoughts on what I will need to invest remotely. What resources i will need in my corner to be able to invest remotely? My plan is to find discounted properties & do the BRRR strategy & potentially have section 8 tenants.
Hey @Jimmy Lieu I'm also considering the Columbus OH market. Looking at small multi's. Feel free to shoot me a dm at your earliest convenience.

Hey what’s good @Jonathan Rivera I Live in Essex County and I’m looking to do the same. Some of things that I’m currently researching are migration patterns in specific markets. Is the population growing or decreasing in that market? How is the economy? When you finally nail down a market that has potential like @Logan Laperriere mentioned you want to build a team of your core four. There is a great book about out of state investing by David Green. You can listen to it on your drives. If you ever want to link up for a coffee or have any questions feel free to reach out.
