Trulia removed their crime maps feature. What else are people using?

ADT.com only provides general crime info for a town but not by street like Trulia used to.

@Quinn Olivarez @Shamar G. @James Wenzel @Jonathan W Martin and these costs include all the little items needed to fill the kitchen and bathrooms, etc? Big question is how did you finance this part? Did you take out an additional loan?

I likely won’t have the cash and I don’t have another property where I can borrow money from the equity. This would be my first property.

What is the typical range to expect for costs

to furnish an entire property for a STR?

I know there are factors that play into that like size of the property and how high end you want to make it. But i just wouldn’t even know what range to expect at all.

@Frank Del Corso thanks for the advice. I actually did just go to the Lehigh Valley Investor Club meetup for the first time last week! Hoping to be able to go to the next meeting and hopefully something comes from networking there.

@Gary York every offer I made has been over asking (sometimes $20k over) with an escalation clause and inspection only for informational purposes and we have STILL been out bid each time. Are you paying with cash or hard money lender? Curious as to what your strategy is for getting that many properties during this period when I haven’t been able to secure one deal ha (reminder I am a Rookie and this would be my first deal). But congrats on those properties! That’s awesome. You’re clearly killing it.

@Matt M. Are you looking outside the Lehigh Valley then or you’re not looking for investments at all at the moment?

Thoughts on investing in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, PA in this market?

I’m trying to break into the market with my first deal but this area is really competitive right now (as is the whole housing market), especially for a Rookie. So, stick it out or are there less competitive surrounding areas that are still good areas to invest in?

@Matt M. I actually just bid on a Wilson Borough property ha. But was outbid. Yea, seems very competitive so was hoping someone on here found some luck recently though and was able to offer some advice in this hot market.

Thanks for your feedback!
