@Alex Bekeza I'm not an American citizen. Please let me know if you think you might have the right program for me.

Thanks a lot.

Hi guys,

I own a single-family house in Austin,TX and would like to refinance it now. I am an international investor and do not live in the US. The property is held in an LLC, has been rented to a stable tenant for more than 3 years now and is in good shape. Does anyone know of a lender that he would recommend to me? I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks a lot in advance.

@Kris Wong Do you have any recommendations for an investor-friendly CPA and lawyer to help me with that?

Thanks for quick replies - that is very helpful!

@Josh Eitingon I indeed plan on having one LLC own all the properties across my portfolio, at least to begin with.

@Jon Holdman Would a Texan (where my current properties are) LLC be disadvantageous if I decided to buy property in Florida or any other state? I guess what I would like to know in case of a portfolio across several states: In which state should I form one to enjoy the most advantages and be the safest?

Regards

Hi guys,

I'm a real estate investor from Germany. I own some single-family homes in the Austin area and would like to move them from my personal name into an LLC. After months of waiting I have finally been assigned an ITIN that allows me to form this LLC. I read some articles about LLCs and that it might be important to select the "right" state for ideal asset protection. My questions now:

What state should I form this LLC in? (I own single-family units in TX and would like to buy multi-family houses in FL, GA, TN or TX in the near future). So I am planning to grow my portfolio quite a bit. Does it really make a difference or should I just form one in Texas, since this is the location of my current properties?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Regards,

Thanks for the answers guys!

@Louis Alvarez, indeed I did have a full-time job and only worked on the houses on weekends (I even held the second house for over a year until it was finished).

@Brent Coombs, good point but since there is no income tax in Texas, it should really be zero. I do pay tax on capital gains but not on income. I will look for another CPA who has more experience in REI and he'll hopefully sort that out.

Thanks.

Marc
