@Denise Baca Hi! Here is the link to the local meetup. It is finally in person again! https://www.meetup.com/Durango...
I have been going for about a year and we are under contract with our first property right now so we may not be the best resource for getting started in the area, but there are a ton of great people in the meetup and they are super helpful. I look forward to seeing you there. Eric Nelson runs the meetup now and he is a great leader/ resource. Let me know I would love to meet up and give you my perspective on the area and learn from you.

@Brandon Halley Thanks for reaching out! I would really like to get together and talk about Investing in this area. We currently have our first house under contract and I'm working through the due diligence and inspection period right now. We have been searching for about a year and have started direct mailing owners with some good responses and several potential deals we may want to buy or even wholesale. If you have time to meet up for a beer or just email I would really like your input on our current property. (it seems tricky) especially for our first one. potential septic, well, un-permitted work done by owner, and other problems I am working through and weighing.

Thank you for the advice! I am interested in MF units in my local market (Durango, Co). Prices are very high relative to rent and there is a limit on Short Term Rentals imposed by the city. Many of the houses are very old and decrepit as the constant flow of college students and high property costs seem to cause landlords to avoid repair and rehab. Do you have any specific podcasts or materials you think would benefit me in learning to make money in this market?
I am new, but please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Thanks for the advice on SW Colorado @Alex Whittow!
I am new to RE investing, but I have noticed the same cashflow problems on the Multi-Family units I've analyzed in Durango. I plan on owner-occupying our first property so we can utilize first time home owner programs. Do you have any advice on that strategy? Have you seen a change in the cash-flow potentials with the recent coronavirus situation?

Hi Everyone!
My name is Michael Mote. I live in Durango, Colorado where i guide fly fishing and Instruct skiing. My Real Estate background consists of joining Bigger Pockets 2 weeks ago. My goals are to house hack a 4plex this year and ultimately achieve financial freedom within the next 5 years. I got engaged 1 month ago and I want to be able to spend my time how I want when we decide to have kids.
