Amidst current moratorium on evictions - is there any limitation on not renewing a month to month lease? (Madison, Wisconsin property)
Haven’t been able to find info on this anywhere.
Thank you!

I'm considering a mixed use property - commercial on ground floor and residential/STR second floor.
Can anyone recommend a great tool or approach for evaluating commercial leasing and vacancy rates?
Any advice is much appreciated!

@Greg H.Thanks for the response.
I'm in Wisconsin. I inherited a tenant who is on a month to month lease. No problems - just asking her to move on. No terms are stated in the existing lease. Can I give her a month?

Just closed on duplex #1! Inherited renter needs to go, but the existing lease doesn't length of time for a notice to vacate. What is best practice? Is 30 days sufficient?
Thanks in advance for any input!

@Account Closed I appreciate your candor and am with you 100% in my distaste for the woke warriors - believe me I'm surrounded by it in Madison. I'm not intending to signal anything, but say this is historically verifiable (at least in my area) and ask what you see that's actually addressing it.
This may only be anecdotal, but I'm seeing friends and many acquaintances whose grandparents/parents were locked out of wealth-building through home ownership - and much farther behind in terms of capital they have to work with to get started.

What are you doing or seeing that effectively addresses racial disparity in home ownership/ lending/ generational wealth?
Hopefully this is a fairly straightforward question about a heavy and complex topic!
It's well documented in my city (Madison, WI) that African Americans have historically been cut out of home ownership through redlining, discriminatory lending, etc. What are some creative and effective things you are seeing/doing that ACTUALLY address this?
