@Darrin Vangelakos it sounds like you have some experience and you're in a good place financially to dip your toes into real estate investing. I second what everyone has said, but the easiest way to learn an industry like this is to find someone who is doing what you want to do and do everything you can to learn from them. 

Don't waste their time and add value to them somehow. This is common with any skilled industry. Think apprenticeship (plumbers, electricians, etc...) all require you to learn under someone better than you. 

Do that and you'll be successful.

@Bela Demchouk taking advantage of your family's experience is powerful, but you need to look at their track record. If they have significant wealth through real estate, you need to listen to every word they say when you're starting out. If they have no experience, you might want to create your own path. 

From the little information you gave, i'd absolutely sell and move into something bigger.

@Sippy Hira you need to build on your momentum! I'd get connected with someone you trust that is already syndicating. There are a lot of moving parts that can overwhelm someone on their own. Find a mentor and go for it! Feel free to reach out if you need any help.

@Nick Newman you don't necessarily need a DST to 1031 into a syndication. I've done a TIC and since you would be bringing significant equity, you shouldn't have a problem finding someone with a deal. I would recommend that you continue to trade up.

@Chris Virgil-Stone are you looking to hire people for each individual spot? If so, you're probably going to have to end up extensively training each individual you hire. I would suggest, for your org chart, you or your partner focusing solely on that, while the other one continues to focus on finding/closing deals. Hiring, training, and maintaining that many employees is going to require a "COO" type person which is a career by itself. You don't want to both focus on it and have the business suffer.

@Pedro Amador definitely do your research before reaching out to brokers. If you're not savvy in their lingo, it's not going to go well for you. I'd suggest practicing on other locations before hitting your primary location.

@Anthony Barbato this is definitely a questions for a 1031 QI or a syndication attorney. Do you know a Qualified Intermediary?

Congrats, @Cal Rohrman! How did you go about raising the capital? Any particular strategy that worked well for you?
