Hi Amy,
As a fellow newbie to BP and living in the area, it's a great community to be a part of. Be sure to listen to the podcasts and jump in on the forums.
Hope to see you around,
Mike

@Serge S. I'm good for Wednesday but can also do Friday if better for others.
Btw, great podcast! Really enjoyed it.

Hi Will,
I'm also new to RE investing after leaving my corporate life behind. BP has a wealth of knowledge and contacts.
If partnering or traditional financing aren't possible there is a directory of hard money lenders on the site. Not always the best option but might be handy if you have a great deal.
What has your experience been like at Fortune Builders?

I'm a newbie investor who just moved to Mesa so I'd jump at the opportunity to meet with others in the area and listen to your experiences.
@Serge S. I can share my experiences of paying $8k a year in property taxes on my 1000 sq ft home back in NJ. Boilers, cast iron pipes, and knob and tube are all concerns but the bright side is much of those taxes go toward the school systems (that are generally very good), which bring stable family tenants.
I'm curious what you mean when you say multifamilies are a different breed?

Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the BP community. I will get a hold of J Scott's books immediately.

Great advice, @J. Martin. Thanks! Love the Bay area and used to have a great customer in Richmond.
Many thanks, @Account Closed . Yep, I'm aware it's a gamble (as a bead of sweat drips down my forehead) but I do have some reserves, I'm still doing a little consulting for my old company, and I have a very supportive gf (who btw is from Chicago). I'm a hustler and do better work under a little pressure!

Thanks, @Shahriar K. Admittedly mostly for personal reasons as I decided to move in with my long-distance girlfriend.

Trying to follow Josh's advice on intros. How did I do...?!
Hello everyone,
I'm Mike Dmuchoski and I just drove cross-country from North NJ to move to the Phoenix, AZ area. I'm leaving 10 years of corporate experience where I worked for a chemical company to follow my passion for real estate investing. I have backgrounds in engineering, finance, and marketing that I believe will help offset my limited experience in REI.
I want to rehab houses to either flip or rent (landlording). Renovating my own home (mostly with my 2 hands!) got me into real estate but I hesitated to pull the trigger on investing. So now I'm taking the plunge and going to develop a business, not just work it on the side. BP podcasts have been a great asset to help build knowledge and confidence.
I look forward to networking with you and can't wait to get going.
Best, Mike
