@Bret Gillespie What's up Bret and Danielle!! Wow... what a small world. The football program being cut was a bummer... lucky for the lacrosse program they have a sweet stadium now! And lucky for when I was there we got to workout and do our conditioning on the field without having to worry about interrupting a football practice! Lol. That's great to hear you're doing so well out here, hope to follow in your footsteps. Especially because my duplex is on Canal by the North end!! It needs a ton of work and have been talking to contractors to put a plan together to tackle it. Would love any recommendations you might have! We definitely need to connect and hang out sometime! Hey friends, I thought I'd drop a quick post and introduce myself. I just closed on a Duplex in Carolina Beach, NC a couple weeks ago that I'll be house hacking and Airbnb'ing the other unit! This is my first property and still have a lot to learn but excited for the challenge and journey ahead. Would love to connect with local real estate investors with any experience level - from newbies to the pro's that are crushing it! I played college baseball at Hofstra .. and UNCW was in our conference so we played them every year. Coming down here to play ball made me love the area and wanted to laser focus in on this market with the growth and development going on... doesn't hurt that the lifestyle here right by the beach is amazing! So far I've found the people to be extremely friendly and the food/breweries are tough to beat around here. I want the same thing you guys do with building wealth .. and I feel like networking and meeting/having the right guys and gals around you is one of the best ways to do it so feel free to DM me or message on here so we can connect! 

Also- There's a Real Estate Investors Meet up that @Joe Prillaman hosts at Waterline Brewing Company in Wilmington NC every first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM and tonight is one of them! Hey man - sorry I'm late to this thread and seeing it now! Love what you're thinking about doing! I just closed on a duplex in Carolina Beach that I'll be househacking and Airbnb'ing! I definitely agree with what the others have said above.. tough with inventory right now but there are still deals to be found .. you just gotta act quick and have the right team set up to jump on something when it pops up! I'm new to the area and maybe we can connect sometime! A single family by the University where you can grab some college buddies would be a solid move so don't count that out! Then you can leverage that and try to continue having college kids move in and out every school year. Feel free to DM me and let's chat!! Also, THE guy for all this is @Joe Prillaman ... I met him over BP and he's honestly one of the best guys I've come across from a real estate perspective and overall just a genuinely good dude that will look out for you. Ben, what's going on my man! It was funny reading your post because we have a ton in common. I was recently designated a full time worker with my job and immediately looked to find something in Wilmington... I played college baseball at Hofstra in Long Island and would play UNCW every year and fell in love with this town. The people, outdoors (if you guys are beach people... the sunrises and sunsets are incredible. The surfing here is too), I think there's a brewery on every corner I look haha! The food in this town is next level. I just closed on my first property - a duplex in Carolina Beach just outside of Wilmington! The vibe here is pretty sweet and I've lived almost everywhere! I'll be househacking and airbnb'ing the other unit!! Super pumped to start the journey.  @Joe Prillaman is THE guy.
