Hi, folks.  This thread is a bit old, but wondering if anyone has any insight. I just purchased QB for Mac and have been scouring the internet to find sample charts of accounts for investors.  I reached out to Nancy who said that her book is NOT for me since I'm using QB for Mac.  I appreciate that she has saved me the $ of purchasing it, if it's not going to be helpful, but that means I'm back to square one.  Might anyone be able to share a sample chart of accounts or know where I could find one to get started?  Thanks in advance.

And to those who celebrate, Merry Christmas.

I'm not sure what you mean by a real estate trainer.  I'm just looking for recommendations from people who are happy with their property managers in the area.  I don't live in KC but own a house there and might be looking to change PMs.  Looking for folks who are happy with their PM and would recommend them.

I got really excited when I found this software, only to discover that it's not available for Mac.  Curious what software other people use to manage rental property accounting.

@Jack Benimble - a quick google search returns several complaints (seemingly from the same person on different sites).  Would you like to elaborate on your comment?  Did you work with Home Cash Direct?  Do you have any personal experiences you'd like to share?

@Christopher Winkler - have you heard of the company Relay Rides where you can actually rent your car like you do AirBNB?  Crazy, right?

@Charles McGuire - I have used AirBNB as a renter.  I travel full time for work and most of my co-workers use it in every city we go, with mostly good experiences.  I haven't used it in my home in NYC because it is illegal there.

I would reiterate that while it can be a great source of income, it is important to check on the tax implications with your accountant.

A wink doesn't make your comment any less patronizing.  I am recusing myself from this conversation.  This is not why I'm on this site.

Hey @Account Closed - if your intention is to educate, perhaps a kinder tone might be more effective.  Attacking people, especially newbies, certainly would not encourage them to come back for more "education."
