Post: Cracks in Plaster throughout the house...

It's natural for plaster walls  to form small cracks over time. I'd only be concerned if you started seeing major cracks around window and door corners, major slants in the floor/ceilings, gaps around the floor (as if the wall is pulling away), crooked door frames, etc. Then I'd start to worry that there are some structural/foundation issues.

Hey everyone!

I've been browsing on here for awhile and figured it was time to start posting and networking with people. I'm looking to learn as much as I can. I've always wanted to invest in rental properties, but didn't think it was really attainable until recently.. or maybe I just didn't have the guts. I worked two jobs for awhile while I was a full time college student just to get my first property, which I'm living in and rehabbing.  (Btw, the local first time homebuyer program is a real pain in the a$$! But saved me about 10 grand). My plan is to build a little more equity in the home, get a home equity loan, and buy my first rental property. Then who knows! I'm living in a renovation and making lots of sacrifices to get where I want to be.

I sleep, eat, and dream real estate. I'm loving all of the topics here on bp, getting addicted to RE podcasts, and soaking up all the info like a sponge! I'm also considering part time work as a real estate agent to earn some extra cash and learn all I can.

I'll do whatever it takes to reach my goals :)

I'm in the middle of building an ikea kitchen and I'm loving it so far! I worked at Lowe's for years and I think their in-stock cabinets are subpar compared to the Ikea ones, unless maybe you reinforce them a bit. It's very affordable, especially during the kitchen event. What I liked about it was the hardware with soft closing drawers and the ability to design the kitchen online.

I love the look of exposed brick, but there was no saving this one! I think you made the right move. It's looking better already.

Post: Copper vs pex resale

I've never heard of one being more valuable when it comes to resale, but I think you're less likely to have issues with pex. The only time I've ever had issues with plumbing was with copper piping because they can burst/kink/leak. I really love how flexible and versatile pex is and easy to make changes and repair if you're holding the property.
