@Rajesh Patel I have been in touch with them, actually, and am awaiting a response. My understanding is that HW focuses mostly on the west part of Cleveland, and I want to look in the east too, hence the request for an agent specializing in the areas I mentioned.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Hello all,

I just moved to the Cleveland area and am just starting out in real estate investing. I have capital and financing lined up, so I am ready to jump in! I am looking for a real estate agent who is knowledgeable about the eastern part of Cleveland (Shaker Heights, Solon, University Heights, etc) who can work with me to find properties. Obviously this would need to be someone who is investor-friendly -preferably someone who is an investor themselves- and willing to be patient enough to educate a new investor (I promise that I am a fast learner!). I am looking to buy several properties over the next several months/years, so we are talking about a long-term partnership once I find the right person.

Please let me know if you are or know of a good agent!

Great job on the reno! I love what you did with the kitchen, and the exterior looks great- very inviting. Thumbs up!

What an inspiring story! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. As a brand new investor, I love reading the success stories- partly to get me motivated, and partly to learn about the different paths that people take so I can figure out which one is right for me.

It strikes me that having the right partners is crucial- there is nothing like the moral support of like-minded individuals to keep going when the going gets tough!

Thanks, @James Wise

@Dmitriy Fomichenko- Thank you for all the useful pointers and links! I have checked some of them out. Not a big fan of podcasts in general, but I could read all day long- so I am definitely looking forward to the books and posts. I will shoot you a PM about a question I have WRT financing.

Hello!

I just moved to the Cleveland area from North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. My husband is a native Ohioan and he will be attending graduate school in Cleveland. I was working full-time but am currently not. I have been interested in real estate investing for a long time- it's always been a part of my retirement plans, but I did not envision it happening until I was close to retirement. However, since I have moved to Ohio and realized that (1) real estate is ridiculously cheap in Cleveland (compared to the Raleigh-Durham area), and (2) the sooner I get into the game, the longer I can benefit from my investments. So- I am now exploring buy and hold small (2-4 units) multi-family rentals in the greater Cleveland area.

I have read many of the forum threads about a variety of topics, including the Cleveland ones. I would love to connect and/or meet up with those on BiggerPockets who are in the area! I did see that there is a meet-up on Thursday, and I am planning to attend it.

I do have one question for the community about financing: I have a good amount of money saved up that I plan on using for down payments and other costs. What are my financing options? We sold our house, so HELOC is not a possibility; I don't believe I qualify for a FHA loan, since my husband is going to be a student and I am not currently working and we don't have any regular income to show. What are some creative ways for me to finance any investments? Thank you for any insights!

Patsy
