@Joel Lazar that sounds neat. We plan to do a remodel if STR's can be permitted. The County Chair, Jeff Brower, is a good one to reach out to to express your interest. Our rep. Heather Post is also in favor. The rest of the County Chair who doesn't even represent us, not so much. The hotel sector has a strong force over them. Yes, I self-manage. Keep in touch.

@Joel Lazar would Love to hear your plans for the home in OBC. I'm really hoping STR regulations change either by the state or at the lead of Volusia's wonderful County Chair.

@Chad Shultz when/where does the REIA meet? I used to attend a landlord meet-up group there, but haven't since we started traveling full-time for my husband's job. Would love to come if ever in town during one.

Hey @Brian Morales, Volusia County native here. A lot of people like Palm Coast. It’s not really my jam, but I friends who enjoy it there. Ormond Beach and Port Orange are great in terms of schools. Daytona has rough areas, a lot of money being put in there though. DeLand is a nice place to look too. Hit or miss in some areas, so check crime mapping. St. Augustine is nice. We have a property in Ormond by the Sea. Still working on rules changing to allow short term rentals. My gut says it will happen eventually. We also have a duplex in DeLand, near downtown. Nice area, as Downtown the there is extremely nice. Voted best mainstreet in the US actually. Keep in touch! Congrats on the move. It’s a great area.

Urgent call out for anyone in Volusia County (Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Ormond-by-the-Sea, Holly Hill, Deltona, DeLand, etc.)
The Volusia County Council will be voting on whether or not they will be allowing Vacation Rentals in unincorporated Volusia County on MAY 18th!
They NEED to hear from us! If you can come speak on that day, COME! If not, contact me because we are going to be airing short 5 second video clips of people saying the following:
"My name is _______ from District____. I am in favor of well-regulated Vacation Rentals in Volusia County."
This being approved would be HUGE for our area, our small businesses, and for travel in general in Volusia County. We need all the support we can get!
