 @Charles - thanks for the heads up.  I'm not able to find anything that is reasonably priced for me to scoop up here in the OC or Corona/Riverside where I would like.  Good points though that you make and more things to consider - appreciate it!

Damien, the meet ups that were mentioned are fabulous.  There are also a few in the IE if you're willing to travel out there.  The OC meet up in Lake Forest is the place to start my friend - many great resources I have found there.

The OC meet up Joe talked about is great. I have been going for months now. I started diving into REI in January. I will aim to hit the Riverside meetings on the weekends like Todd talked about.

I just moved to Riverside/Corona off Magnolia and have been studying/learning for about 6 months off and on while working.  Looking to have rental properties and a few buy and holds would be nice also.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I am just learning and studying, while trying to look at and evaluate deals out here.  Continue to study and learn in the meantime.  Come out to OC or the IE and hit a meet up with me and a few others on this thread...it's been priceless.
