Thanks for the comments!

@Nathan Murith I would love to read that blog post! I just DM'd you.

@Bill B. Thank you for feedback! I went ahead and reached out to a few agents in an area I'm interested in.

I am a complete newbie here. I have seen a few videos and watched a few webinars which have been extremely valuable, but when it comes to the granular process in purchasing a property. I'm still not sure what comes first in terms of offer to a new house or finding a loan if I've already established a budget. Do i just need a pre-approval and start sending out offers? Also uncertain how far down the chain can we go before backing out of a deal if we realize it's a bad one (eg inspection, appraisal, etc.). Lastly, when does the appraisal and inspection actually happen? What is done during these functions of the process?

I appreciate the help and really enjoy learning from the BP Team and the community!

Thank you!

@John TeachoutThanks for the comment! The goal is still to do this legally. Sometimes there are creative ways to work the system but still within the law. I'm new to the game so just was wondering on others thoughts, and also saw an abundance of STR's in seaside so that also prompted my curiosity.

@Tim Johnson

I'll shift and just use this property as a lont term rental and search elsewhere for STR properties. Appreciate the tips and your 2 cents!

Hello Eveyrone,

My parents have a home in Seaside, CA which we are trying to convert to a Airbnb STR unit, however I see under Seasides STR regulations that any newly formed STR's are prohibited post April 2018.

I did find this, and I was wondering if anyone else attempted this and if this actually works? Also, curious if there are any other workarounds or loopholes that can get you around this legally.

Another question is, is it worth getting an STR property in areas that you know will do well but have these type of regulations in place?

Thanks BP Team and Community!
