Yeah that's what I'm thinking. There's currently a bunch of multifamilies under construction in the area and austin tx has historically been a great place for growth. But if other new multifamilies pop up near it won't that drive the rents down if they're similar in Unit mix etc.?

Thank you for the reply! I have 1 single family that I'm renting right now with the va loan and in the process of buying a second. I didn't learn about the house hacking idea until it was too late and I don't really Wana refinance right now because of the interest rates. But I wish I wouldve thought of it before!

Hey everyone what are your opinions on purchasing new construction multifamily units? I'm sure cash flow will be close to 0 but I also think in the long term the equity and rent growth will be great. What are your thoughts?
