@Steve Babiak yes, we top the bed with a layer of red clay, just like we do our slabs. Also, in our area, the sidewalk and driveway do not fall under code and don't require permits.

Cost summary, trim phase $49,437

• Light fixtures, fans & appliances $5,055
• Wood flooring & tile $18,707
• Plumbing, electrical & mechanical trim $10,918
• Landscaping, fill, driveway & sidewalk $7,819
• Other costs $6,938: Cleanup, shower glass, bath mirrors, trim carpenter.

Here are pictures of the driveway and sidewalk being placed. Unfortunately, I skimped on the picture taking toward the end of the project. But I will post pics of the finished house shortly.
