Installing cabinets. These were box cabinets with custom doors and crowns. We were not overly please with the quality, so we chose a different vendor for our future houses.

Painting interior. We chose Sherwin Williams Worldly Gray, SW 7043 for the walls and Basic White for the ceilings and closets.

@Mike Wood is ~15% GC fee common? Interesting. Sounds like your guy is a lot better at cutting costs than I.

@Jim Adrian you are spot on. And the problem can double in our south Louisiana humidity.

@Mike Wood good to hear from you. Yes, I'm the builder. I hate to say, but I am unfamiliar with GC fees. The profit I show is simply the difference between sale price and what I have into it. I don't do work for anyone but myself on my specs, so I am not familiar with typical GC fees.

Further, with my specs, I don't intend on setting the world on fire in terms of profitability or volume. I shoot for about 15% profit, and 3-5 projects per year. This way I can simply enjoy the music of building a house without the stresses normally associated with construction.

@Jim Adrian thanks for your input. The insulation above the door is actually attic insulation. Hard to see in the pic, but I dropped the ceiling in the pantry to allow for easier light bulb change-out.
