Hi BP community.

I am looking to join a mastermind group. I am joining to help/support others with their journey and also help me ACCELERATE my REI investing through peer support, coaching, and preferable has a model to follow based on one's goals. I am looking at groups like David Greene's Spartan League, the Wicked Smart community, etc. If anyone has a mastermind group that's really helped them progress, and they are open to new members and you're very comfortable 'vouching' for them, please message me. Thank you so much in advance! Remy

The Short Term Shop was the greatest experience of my life.
The CEO also wrote the book on STR which was published by Bigger Pockets!

Thanks Luke! One question for you: Where did you get that t-shirt? It's awesome.

Hi Remy! Vodyssey is an education company. At The Short Term Shop, we are real estate agents that specialize in helping short term rental investors buy and sell short term rentals. So you can do both! We are not competitors.

Thanks Avery. Just to clarify, some of the responses here say STR Shop provides the education piece too - I'm asking because candidly, it would be much easier to manage one relationship vs. 2 or more. With that said, you might also tell me it might be better to have more than one b/c they specialize in their respective areas....What are your thoughts? Feel free to message me directly. Thanks!

I personally like the Short Term Shop - they are pros in their space

I don't like the self management that they push and hinge your success on. This is equivalent to picking up another full time job

Thanks Jeremy. Not sure I understand your second comment - who pushes the self management...Voydessy or STR Shop? I am NOT looking to manage the properties myself (maybe first 1-2 for learning purposes) but I'd prefer to manage Property Managers as I do know with LTR's....

Has anyone worked with or is working with Vodyssey or the Short Term Shop? What is/was your experience like? What's the difference between the two companies?  Pro's/Con's?

Quote from @John O'Leary:

Hey Remy,

I'm not familiar with that program, but I'm a firm believer in paying for education. Coaching or mentorship in real estate investing can allow you to collapse time and "skip to the front of the line" by leveraging the experience and knowledge of those who have already achieved success in the industry. Just like professional athletes who still work with coaches to hone their skills, a real estate mentor or coach can provide you with valuable insights, shortcuts, and strategies that can help you avoid mistakes and fast-track your success. Instead of spending years learning by trial and error, working with a coach or mentor can allow you to accelerate your learning curve, gain confidence, and achieve your goals faster. I personally spend about 50K a year in masterminds and always get my money back just through network of individuals you get access to. HOWEVER, I'm not to big on taking a % of each deal after the fact like certain franchise opportunities.

 Thanks John!

Hi BP community.

Is anyone working with or has worked with the Wicked Smart coaching program? I learned about them from a Rent to Retirement podcast where they interviewed a former W2 FT sales guy in tech (that's me today...) turn real estate investor. He talked about getting coaching from them, and how beneficial it was for him. Truthfully, I am not that big on coaching programs BUT, I can understand the benefits of having someone in your corner teaching and coaching you on the ins and outs of real estate investing every week. I met with Wicked Smart today and was told they help you set up a lead sourcing system, help you structure creative financing - which is essentially lease option/purchase, subject to and owner financing....all strategies I am interested in learning more about. There is a not so inexpensive fee - anywhere from 5k to 100k depending on the program and they take a % of each deal.

Looking for current or past students to chime in....Thank you!

I’m currently working with them and they are the real deal. They give you and teach you all of the tools you need for creative financing and are in the trenches with you.  They will match effort for effort jumping on seller calls and helping you close deals, walk you through contracts, make connections to attorneys, etc.  The community, coaching and support really are second to none, and I always gain valuable insights from the masterminds and every interaction I have with them.  You profit share with them for the first 10 deals (at the higher levels) because they really are right there with you holding your hand, and as I mentioned, doing three way calls, etc. every step of the way.  They’ll coach you right into it being your own business that allows you to leave your W2, if that’s your goal.

 Thanks John!
