Quote from @John Underwood:

I can tell you there are tons of vacation rentals in M.B.

I'd recommend to stay away from condos because there are so many of them it is a race to the bottom for setting pricing.

That’s not my main concern at this point T as I am very early I. The stages of evaluating potential deals. I meant more is it STR friendly for property owners or are there too many restrictions with zoning, HOA, etc. Cash flow opportunity will certainly become a bigger factor as I am closer to purchase but because this will also be used as a family vacation home need it to make sense for both our practical use and for renting

Anyone with experience or properties in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area?

I am looking to purchase my first property later this year, and we are looking in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area.this is going to be a property that we intend to use during the year as a vacation spot (we currently live in NJ) but also plan to rent out when we are not using. I have been doing some research recently and looking at a few properties but sometime find it difficult to know if STR is allowed etc. I assume the easiest way is to work with an investor friendly agent. Just wanted to see if anyone has experience in this market. once we have our first property we would like to continue to add additional properties along the east coast in STR friendly markets. Specifically in SC,NC,GA and in PA

Hi everyone. Currently located in New Jersey. While I've been looking at and thinking about investing in real estate for a while. I finally am ready to dive in. While it may seem daunting what separate the successful people from the rest is just actually doing it and putting the fear aside. I consider my self to be pretty investment savvy as my professional career is in the financial services industry as a licensed financial professional, currently focused on working with qualified retirement plans. My goal is to use the the next few months to research and absorb as much informations as possible and by the end of the year or q1 next year have my first 1 or 2 properties. Initially my wife and I want at least 1 property that we can use to vacation ourselves and as a STR and continue to grow from there looking mostly at STR and LTR properties. I have a 3 year old son and we really would just like to be able to build something that allows us the financial freedom and flexibility to be present and spend time with family and experience life and something that can create long term wealth for future generations.

Looking forward to connecting with as many of you as possible and learn as much as I can from this community as I start this journey.

Ryan
