Myrtle Beach STR Friendly?

Anyone with experience or properties in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area?

I am looking to purchase my first property later this year, and we are looking in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area.this is going to be a property that we intend to use during the year as a vacation spot (we currently live in NJ) but also plan to rent out when we are not using. I have been doing some research recently and looking at a few properties but sometime find it difficult to know if STR is allowed etc. I assume the easiest way is to work with an investor friendly agent. Just wanted to see if anyone has experience in this market. once we have our first property we would like to continue to add additional properties along the east coast in STR friendly markets. Specifically in SC,NC,GA and in PA

I can tell you there are tons of vacation rentals in M.B.

I'd recommend to stay away from condos because there are so many of them it is a race to the bottom for setting pricing.
