Hello everyone,

My name is Sam Loranger and I’m from Brookfield, CT. I am 22 years old and currently work in construction. I have been on the fence of getting into real estate for about a year but after buying and reading Brandon Turners book, “The Book on Rental Property Investing” I became hooked. Since then I have discovered BP podcasts and this great community.

I am the first in my family/ friend group to show interest in RE so it’s very hard to get started, which is why I’m here! I want to explore and learn as much as I can before I officially jump in.

I look forward to speaking and learning from some of you!

Good morning everyone!

I’m currently listening to BP podcast about the 20 deadliest mistakes for new investors and the number two rule that Brandon mentioned was waiting too long to get started.

I read a few books over the span of the last few months and listened to a ton of podcasts to educate myself further along. I certainly don’t feel like I’m ready to get into RE because I feel like I don’t know enough yet.

How long did it take you guys to get into actually investing in RE? Do you feel the best way to do RE is just to actually do it? Or is it smarter to learn about the business for a year or two before jumping in?

While reading and listening to the BiggerPockets podcast, I realize how hard it can be to find a legit contractor. What are some of the things I should look for, or be aware about when interviewing contractors.

On the BiggerPockets podcast it was mentioned that I should look for referrals, and other methods but it can still be tricky.

Hi All,

So I’m new to real estate investing and I think the best way for me to learn is to read. I’m looking for new books that can help add to my knowledge about the field.

I read Rich Dad Poor Dad (twice) and The Book on Rental Property Investing, from BiggerPockets. I also just purchased the book The E Myth, because listening to the BiggerPockets podcast, that book comes up quite a bit from the guests on the podcast.

If any of you have any other books/podcast that might help let me know! Thank you!
