Happy to say that I finally got out of credit card debt. Nothing related to real estate, but it is a step closer for me putting more money away for a down payment! So happy for myself! next are those student loans!

Post: Should I finish my college degree?

Hello Grant,

I just graduated college in 2015 and right now, if i could do it all over again, I would have never gone. If I knew what I know now I would have just learned on my own and saved up all the money I could've saved by not going to college. I graduated with Economics which is not doing much for me but opening doors.  I would rather work at a Mc Donalds and save up with no stress of having that tuition debt. But since you are 2 years in, it would be a sunk cost. I say finish it as fast as you can by taking extra classes, and look for chances to lower your debt. Really sucks having your paycheck cut by 2/3rds so it can go to tuition when it could have gone to investments. Hope my opinion helps.

I end with this quote by Frank Zappa "if you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library"

Apologies if this offends anyone.

Hello BP Community,

Is any real estate investor in the Metro NYC area interested in a cup of coffee?

I graduated college in 2015 and want to get into the game of real estate after realizing my future of working behind a desk for 60 years is not a great life.

I would like to see your opinion on how you think I should start, after I explain my situation.

Please let me know if anyone would like to meet. I work at 34th street and 7th avenue New York.

Add me as a contact and PM if you are interested. Coffee is my treat.

-Sam

@Cody L. thank you for that. I have a plan to kill my student loan by picking up a second job, gotta make sacrifices . I must start this real estate journey because I really want to enjoy life , it is not meant to be stuck behind a desk with a crummy 401k plan.

@Eric Swope Thank you very much, I would really appreciate your connection. I have a financial plan on getting out of the student debt trap, not looking to pay for ever. I have the ambition to get into this, just need a little guidance to get out there. I am currently reading a book called ' The book on Investing in Real Estate with no and low money down' by Brandon Turner. It really is making me truly understand the lingo and different types of stuff. I know i can do this! and when my debt gets paid off i will become a real estate investor i made that promise to myself. I want to live financially free and out of the rat race.

Hello BP Community,

I am here today to seek advise. I graduated college back in 2015 and left with debt of $48,000. Doesn't sound too bad really. I was able to learn financial intelligence through books and common sense.  I currently work for a coffee trading company and make a crummy 35k a year in NYC, does not really do anything for me. I became extremely interested in real estate because I got tired of working a 9-5 job, and seeing my future becoming a desk job. Do you have any tips for someone that only makes 35k is paying tuition and is trying to get into real estate? is it even possible? I really do not want to lose hope because i have family and mentors telling me i basically have to be 40 years old and have accumulated some money to do real estate. Thank you for your time, and comments.
