Oh never mind, you've already hired someone good. ;)

Sounds like you have a poorly created PPC campaign. A good campaign should have generated ~4 leads by now. Fire whoever made the account, and stop lighting money on fire until you hire someone who knows what they are doing.

Jeff Filali Dear moderators/IT: the mobile tagging has been an unresolved issue for at least a year now. Yeesh.

Jeff Filali how do you know whether the SEO leads are just folks searching your brand (resulting from other advertising efforts) versus truly organic traffic (not lifted from other advertising efforts)? Most people who say they get SEO leads on here, are actually just getting incremental organic traffic for branded terms (your company name) that are a result of previous PPC, or word of mouth, or other means.

@Mike G. We're running a test now, spending 20k between an investor carrot and lead propeller version of an investor's site. So far we can say there are difference between the two, but the overall conversion rates are similar. Once we're done running the test, there will be more conclusive data to share. You can't go wrong with either one, based on the data we have now. I'm speaking only for Paid traffic directed at the site, not SEO.

@Eric Allen Our 13 yr old son has banked a few grand this past year doing odd jobs around the neighborhood. He has a website at www.thesamofalltrades.com (both of his parents are online marketers). This has not only helped him become responsible, and make money, but it's also helped us get to know more of our neighbors. We're making him pay taxes this year, so that doesn't come as a shock to him later.

You can also take them to garage sales, have them look up the value of items online, then haggle a ridiculous deal, then go sell that item online. Basically flipping, but on a smaller scale. Negotiating the buy and the sell are the two most important parts imo. Good luck!

@James Meadows PPC: average Cost-per-lead is $200-$400, and $3k-$5k per deal acquired! Depends on the market. :D

I do PPC, but I had very little budget, and a specific farm area, I would find the local watering hole - the bbq joint, greasy spoon, or church. I'd buy an ad in the menu, ask (offer to rent) to set an ad at the cash register, or buy an ad in the church's brochure. Buy shirts that say 'I buy houses for cash with a phone number' and wear that everywhere you go.

Sorry, but I gotta throw a penalty flag here on Lucas Machado - some of what he said shows a lack of understanding of basic Adwords functionality. The "+" is for modified broad match, and does not work the way he described it.
