It depends on what your market determines and what your renters are looking for.

It's the Army's future development HQ. It will be bringing about 1,500 troop and civilian contractors to the area, if it get approved and is not fought by the city. It will be interesting to see if it stays around once a new cabinet is brought into the Oval Office. This was heavily fought by major members in the House. I would suggest waiting to see what accomidations will be provided to the post once it's built, it will be one of the newest post created in CONUS so they may provide housing and other amenities.

Howdy All,

Just wanting to connect with a few people to see what rules, guidelines, and other methods that you use to purchase in Texas. I tend to work with military communities for rentals and flips, but I am always looking to learn a few more techniques to make some extra coin. Let me know some things you look for in a community that your looking to invest in, no need to tell me where or anything like that.

Building a portfolio of single family residences seems like a long, tedious process of marketing to find off-market properties, BRRRR, supplemental creative finance, etc.

Can anyone with experience acquiring an apartment complex share some numbers from the deal? Anyone have a large SFR rental portfolio that wishes they would have just bought an apartment complex from the start or vice-versa? Why?

You can't go wrong with either, just make sure you do your research and due diligence. I have a portfolio that has both and it dose well, but that's because my market can support this.

I am not to sure what the cost would be or what exactly you are working with, when I had it done it cost about $9K. I can have my builder take a look and give you a better quote and walk you through the pricing.

@Marcus Craighead Welcome to BP! It's a great place to learn and network. Kind of properties are you interested in starting out with?
