@Wayne Brooks Yes he is paying the architect. I only get 5 drawing with my loan so he would need to have enough funds to start the Project before funds are released. Do you know if there is any other way to paying the architect with a 203k loan?

Hello, I was hoping I could get some guidance. Just got approved for a 203k FHA loan. Got a multi family property. I have been having trouble with the timeliness of my contractor. We have everything approved to get started, all he needs to do is pay the architect and start gutting the property but he keeps rescheduling when we will meet with the architect to provide him with payment. I have a timeframe to have the insurance come out and inspect the property but the contractor is moving too slow. Should I fire my current contractor, what do I need to know before doing so and what is the best way to find a new contractor? Because this is an FHA loan I would assume that dismissing him is a little more complicated. I am afraid to let him go due to me needing to get at least my doors and windows set up for the insurance inspector.
