I am drafting a speech and looking for a funny, short real estate joke to catch the audience right at the start. Does anyone have a good Real Estate joke? (audience of commercial brokers)

Q: How many estate agents does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: None! “The lightbulb is in excellent working order and comprised of a beautiful retro teardrop illuminator, offering original glass and metal features and located very centrally in the middle of the room. Local amenities abound and the property is serviced by a newly refurbished power cord connecting it to the ceiling. Nearby is a tasteful power switch to enable the purchaser to switch it on and off. Leasehold with share of power supply with lovingly improved wattage by the current owners. Would suit a professional couple or family looking for more light.”

I'll see myself out...

Quote from @Kareika W.:

Any investors in the Tampa area?

I am local to the Tampa area and feel more comfortable investing here than OOS. Looking for agents who invest here (and surrounding areas) themselves and are possibly open to partnering on some deals. Not looking to flip or do heavy renovations. Care more about cash flow than appreciation but okay with cash flow not being super large as I know it's difficult to cash flow here currently.

Even if you're a newbie here, please reach out. Would love someone to bounce ideas off of and learn from as well.

Open to OOS investing if you have experience!

Hi Kareika,

If you are interested in OOS then our team that services the Southeast TN and North GA areas might be able to assist. We are very OOS investor friendly. I'll shoot you a message with more information.

All the best,

Spencer

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Chattanooga, TN resident, realtor, and (newbie) investor here.

A mentor told me real estate is all about building relationships, so here I am! I'll probably have some silly questions going forward, so please be patient with me haha. I've been listening to BP podcasts, lurking in the forums, and suffering from shiny object syndrome for awhile. I'm seeking financial freedom and lasting wealth for my family.

I'm not sure the etiquette on messaging to make connections, so I'm sorry ahead of time if it comes across as weird.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Spencer

 Welcome, Spencer!

The awkward part is officially behind you haha!

I started as a lurker myself. I then became active on BP and made some solid connections.

You're off to a great start by completing your profile - Thank you for your service to our country!

Couple of recommendations:

- Set up keyword alerts which will allow you to receive notifications anytime a topic or location of interest is mentioned. i.e. "Chattanooga" "BRRRR stragtegy" "TN flipping", etc
- Attend local meetups to begin growing your network - you can find them here or on sites like eventbrite or meetup.
- Set up systems to regularly keep in touch with (and add value to) the folks you connect with whether they're local contacts or virtual contacts from BP.

Happy to see you here... looking fwd to seeing how the BiggerPockets platform contributes to your journey.

All the best,

Abel

Thank you for the kind words and recommendations!

Kind regards,

Spencer
